About the Choir
Our varied repertoire is based around the principal classical choral works, ranging from Mozart, Haydn, Fauré, Brahms and Vaughan Williams, to occasionally pieces written by our own talented conductor, Rory Freckleton. We have currently about 35 members and we would love to grow. As a traditional Choral Society serving the Community, we won't ask you to audition, just come and try us. You will be very warmly welcomed as a soprano or alto or in our bass and tenor sections.
The Choir was founded in a thriving Brierley Hill in 1933, and gave its first concert in 1934. 89 years and a new millennium later, we are still going strong! As well as singing, we also enjoy getting together for a number of social events during our season.
Rory keeps us on our toes in the friendliest way at our rehearsals every Monday from 7.30 to 9.30 at Wesley Methodist Church, Mount Pleasant, Quarry Bank, Brierley Hill. DY5 2YN. It can only do you good! The church has its own car park.
Or why not come along to one of our concerts? Always well attended and well received, they are usually followed by a drink and a bite to eat.
Why not come and join us?
Our next concert
Saturday 9th December is the date for our next concert, 7.00pm at St Mark's Church Pensnett DY5 4JJ, together with Dudley Choral Society. For this concert we are performing works by Bach, Schutz and Rutter, together with Carols with audience participation.
